Well, as usual things are behind schedule because nothing seemed urgent until January!
I have renewed the ACU license, booked onto the first race at end of March and also booked the trackday the day before. So all set paperwork-wise.
As for the bike, well it is in a million pieces in Dynotech right now. They are doing a full engine refresh and feedback after the strip-down is all good. Apart from a worn cam chain, everything else is in as good a nick as we could have hoped for, including the gearbox. We will be swapping out a couple of individual gears using a new box I bought, but using my shafts as we know they are straight. Hopefully all should be back together in the next week or two. Then we need to do some serious running-in, the BMW doesn’t like going hard after a rebuild apparently.
The suspension is being refreshed while the bike is apart and a few other little odds and sods, but in general most of the work was done last year.
My carbon fibre wheels no longer meet regulations, so I have bought Antonio Maeso’s Magnesium MFRs. They have only done some practice laps and 5 laps of the TT, so all but new. Along with my CF wheels for practice days and two sets of stock wheels, I am well sorted.
As for me? Well I’m fatter than I should be and certainly less fit than I should be, but no surprises there then.
Can’t wait to get started now!
