Well what a great weekend! Anglesey is a great little circuit, perched on the cliffs of Wales with some brutal corners to haul a 1000cc bike round but a fantastically grippy surface.
The weather threatened us all weekend but was, as an old drinking companion of mine would say, ‘All fart and no shite’. So no wets required. There was the odd splash of visor rain, but nothing to affect laptimes.
All in all I had a great weekend. It started slowly as usual – qual 13th and finishing 13th in race 1 – that was poor considering the smaller field. From 13th I made it to 10th – so I broke that duck. Qualifying on Sunday was good – 8th place – but only managed a 9th in the race when I should have managed better. Starting back on 12th for the last race, I finished 11th.
So good points, but I’m not making the most of the few good grid positions I am getting.
Next up came Cadwell for the second visit…
